Exploring Chord Progressions - House Music and The Minor Mode

Exploring Chord Progressions - House Music and The Minor Mode

Course Description

This is a harmony course in which you're going to explore the chord progressions behind classic House music records from the late 80s and early 90s.
You will learn the harmony techniques used behind famous songs and this will enable you to understand chord progressions common to numerous songs and apply them to your electronic music production.
The techniques are exemplified with the following songs:
Adeva – Warning
Ce Ce Rogers – Someday
Crystal Waters – Gypsy Woman
Everything But The Girl – Missing
Inner City – Good Life
Joe Smooth – Promised Land
Moloko – Sing it Back
Rhythim is Rhythim – Strings of Life
Ultra Nate – Free

Special Features
All examples were transposed to only one tonality: A minor.
In this way you can focus your energy to learn less than 30 chords and quickly compose using a wide range of chords in your productions.
Full audio and midi files
In the end, a song that explores the concepts studied in the course is composed and explained. All parts of the composed song will be available as audio and midi for your utilization as royalty-free.
Who should take this course?
The producer who wants to learn chords and know how to apply to their music.
The electronic musicians seeking to improve their harmony knowledge.
The composer / songwriter that want to explore new chord progressions.
Structure
The course consists of video lectures, which contains three main views: In the top, a note-by-note midi keyboard, in the bottom, my hands playing the piano and in the middle, the description of the progression and techniques used in the songs.
Each video introduces a new concept and is progressively divided; each new harmonic technique is explained with a new song example.
